Three County Interoperability • TRIS (Tri-County Regional Interoperability) • links all four Motorola SmartZone systems • links other conventional radio in Pierce County • links to Washington State Patrol • links the Federal Integrated Wireless Network • “Decent interoperability” • Limited to local footprint • No outside or other agencies, or data Governor’s Interoperability Summit Bill Schrier, 2007

Three County Interop Needs • Training – use the existing interoperability! • Smartzone 4.1 Obsolete in 2012 – upgrade or ? • Standards – “Project 25” • Connect computers, handhelds, video, two-way • Interop with utilities, transportation, State • Interop with out-of-area responders (“9-11”) Governor’s Interoperability Summit Bill Schrier, 2007
