Piece of the Day Speak the lyrics
Point to the right side This is where your right hand will strum the Dulcimer to play the rhythms.
How to strum Start closest to your body and gently push outward away from you in one stroke.
Practice strumming on a pretend dulcimer in front of you. Move your hand and say ‘strum’ for every note.
Transition Feet Criss –Cross Hands in your lap Shoulders Back Chin Level Eyes forward
In a moment I will call your row. • You turn to the left and walk in a straight line to the table up front and get a pick.
You will then continue walking all the way to the very first Dulcimer. • Gently take it from the stack and carefully make your way back to your X
You will not use the strap • I need to walk around behind and help you so please leave your Dulcimer on the floor.
Please remember that THIS is the only side that is strummed.
Did you hear the notes go up and down in melody? raise your hand to answer yes or no.
Point to the left side of the Dulcimer This is the side that makes the lower pitches happen. As you go down to the right, the pitches get higher
KEEP YOUR LEFT HAND DOWN! Put your left pointer ringer on # and push down firmly.
This time push down with your left finger and strum with your right/ pic
