  4. What financial help could you get? • Equipment, trips and clothing costs • Travel expenses • Childcare costs • Tuition fees (if applicable) • CRB/DBS where necessary • Bursary

Equipment, Trips and Clothing • To claim your equipment and clothing costs you MUST make sure you keep your receipts and they are signed by your tutor. • You then take them down to the finance department along with your award form and you will be reimbursed. • To claim trip money you must take your signed letter with all trip details to finance.

  6. Transport If you live more than 3 miles away and you are: • 16-18 make sure that you have applied for your college bus pass • 19+ please apply for Financial Assistance as you may be eligible for help towards transport costs

  7. Childcare • 16-18 you can apply through Care to Learn for help with Nursery and Travel costs (please pick up an application form before you leave). • 19+you can apply through Financial Assistance.

  8. Bursary • To be eligible you must be enrolled on a full time course and have 90% + attendance • You are responsible for checking your attendance on a weekly basis and any errors must be reported to your tutor • Payments will be made on a half termly basis, payments are made directly into your bank account • It is your responsibility to inform us if you change your bank details

  9. To log onto Moodle go to the college website. Scroll to the bottom of the homepage and select the Moodle icon. Then use your student number and password to log in.

  10. How do you check your attendance? • Log in to your Moodle account using your student number and password. • Select learner attendance report on the left hand side. • Select the date of the week which you would like to check your attendance.

  11. You can see which lesson is marked incorrectly This is your register mark This is your attendance percentage. It must be 90% or above to receive bursary Use this key to see if your register has been marked correctly

  12. What do I do if my attendance is incorrect? • Speak to your tutor and discuss any unauthorised absences you believe are incorrect. • If you receive financial assistance you need to let someone in customer services know of any changes or updates to your attendance if you think they may affect your award. • Remember to check your attendance every week! • Your bursary/childcare may not be paid if you have an incorrect register.

  13. Your e-mail • Any transport, payment or other important information will be emailed to your student account • It is your responsibility to check this on a regular basis (at least weekly) • To help you with this you can forward your student account to your personal email address

  14. To log onto your student emails go to the college website. Scroll to the bottom of the homepage and select the webmail icon.

  15. Your username is your student number e.g 30045451 Your password will be given to you by your tutor

  16. You can forward your college emails to your personal email account so that you can access them easier outside of college.

  17. 1. Click here 2. Select ‘add a forwarding address’ 3. Select ‘forward a copy of incoming mail to’ and the appropriate email address 4. Don’t forget to save changes!

  18. You can collect a: • Financial Assistance Application form • Bus pass application • Care to Learn form Before you leave if you have not already completed one.
