Mission Statement: • Project_Bully is devoted to helping youth understand, reject and prevent bullying in all of its forms. We are devoted to informing teenagers the consequences and the side-effects that bullying has on other teens in hopes to change their attitude and conduct towards the treatment of others. Through various activities we are committed to helping children, parents and teachers grasp the idea that bullying can come to an end.
Who: Project_Bully teamed up with New Berlin Eisenhower Middle School with Jodee Blanco as guest speaker • 10 student volunteers (plus an additional 2 volunteers for “back up”) • 5 student leaders • What: Our project is a three day event that will take place in both gyms and the auditorium. Our event is aimed to help students at New Berlin Eisenhower Middle School become aware of bullying today, and how it can be prevented in all of its forms. • Centered around fun-filled activities and games that help students get a better understanding as to what bullying is. Lectures and discussions to follow each event. • All activities lead up to Blanco’s speech
When: October 3rd – 5th, 2012 • Where: New Berlin Eisenhower Middle School • 4333 South Sunnyslope Road New Berlin, WI 53151-6899 (262) 789-6300
WHY: • 60% of middle school students say that they have been bullied, while 16% of staff believes that students are bullied. • Bullying was a factor in 2/3 of the 37 school shootings reviewed by the US Secret • 1 out of 5 kids admits to being a bully, or doing some "Bullying." • 97% of middle schoolers are bullied while online. http://stompoutbullying.com/aboutbullying_theissue.php:
Why New Berlin? • Established connection • School’s prior history of cyber bullying • Help to improve their bully prevention program • Information session is required in school’s policy
Verbal • Verbal bullying includes any sort of spoken or written words. • Physical • Physical bullying can include, but is not limited to, kicking, punching, and shoving. It encompasses all bullying acts that are made up of physical contact. • Exclusion • The student being ostracized is often viewed as antisocial, while in reality they are not. Children who face rejection from their peers are more likely to avoid school, and as a result suffer academically. They will also avoid social interactions more often, and their ability to interact with their peers may be negatively affected. • Cyber bullying • Cyber bullying is a growing problem as technology becomes more prevalent in our society. It has been drawing a lot of attention in the media after numerous suicides in the wake of cyber-bullying. Students feel more open on the internet, and they feel like they can say things that they wouldn’t say directly to someone.

What do I have to do so people will listen to me?”
