  3. Japan’s Port Opens to the rest of the World • When Japan opened up to the rest of the world Many new Architectural ideas flooded into the country. Eighteenth century style home

  4. Architecture for an Earthquake Kanto Earthquake of 1923. • Most non Japanese buildings didn’t withstand the earthquake. • The only building that remained that was not of Japanese design was the Imperial Hotel.
