AMA Mission • The Academy of Model Aeronautics is a world-class association of modelers organized for the purpose of promotion, development, education and advancement of modeling activities. • The Academy provides leadership, organization, competition, communication, protection, representation, recognition, education and scientific/technical development to modelers.

  3. AMA Goals and Objectives • Promote our hobby and sport • Represent the interests of members • Protect our members and flying sites • Inform about advancements in modeling • Educate the public and government • Preserve our history and heritage

AMA Challenges Growth • Where will it come from? • Are we positioned to take advantage of new trends? • How do we handle? • How do we educate the new people? • Are models getting too big? • How do we protect ourselves and the public? • How do we maintain a positive image?   12. Spread Spectrum • No anticipated affect on 72 or 27 MHz band. • It’s possible DSS modules and receivers will be available to retrofit current systems. • DSS will be virtually immune from outside interference. • Standards adopted worldwide for DSS. • Servo/system response time won’t change.
