E N D
The Work Experience Program supports students in Grades 9 – 12. The program provides opportunities for students to develop and practice employment skills in a variety of work placement settings. The duration and frequency of the work experience is dependent upon the needs of the employer and that of the student. Work placements are generally 30 hours in length and are undertaken by the student on a voluntary basis. A Special Education Assistant will accompany students when necessary. • Classroom Component (6 1hr. The Employment Portfolio is designed to keep a record of a student’s courses taken and type of work experience completed while in Secondary School. It helps the student document their strengths, interests, community involvement and transition plans. It also is a place for the following: • Cover Letter • Professional Resume • Student Workplace Performance forms • Letters of Reference • ‘Mock’ Interview Response Form • Job Application Form • Transition Exit Meeting • Review Transition Goal form
