  5. Composition the sun is made up of gases such as hydrogen and helium. There is 92.1% hydrogen and 7.8% helium.

  6. Ability to Support Life The sun is made of fire. No living thing would survive because of its heat.

  7. Ability to Produce Light The sun is a star at the center of the solar system. It is a hot ball of gases that gives great amounts of energy.

  8. Additional Facts • The sun has been shining for at least 4 billion years. • The temperature at the sun’s core is about 15 million degrees Celsius. • More then 1 million Earths could fit inside the sun.
