MODIFIERS PAGE 72 Modifiers describe part of a sentence. The modifier must be in the correct form, placed in the correct place in the sentence, and clearly describe a word in the sentence in order for the sentence to make sense. PLURAL NOUNSPAGE 84 For most nouns, adding “s” to the end of the word will make it plural. For words ending in “f”, like leaf, you change the “f” to a “ve” and then add an “s”. For example, leaf becomes leaves. For nouns ending in a consonant and a “y”, change the “y” to i” and add “es”. Some nouns are spelled irregularly.
