Methodology The family The data presented refer to a family with 4 persons, parents and 2 children. The children attend compulsory education in public school near area of residence. The journey to school is made of diesel car. The parents ' place of work is at a distance of 3 to 5 Miles of residence. Extracurricular activities attended by children are: swimming and football
Methodology Spending The different areas in which expenditure is presented below as follows: Rent - apartment T3 typology with approximately 100 m2 of area; Food - lunch (Monday to Friday) - Parents, away from home and children, in the school canteen. The remaining meals at home; Water - Worn with bathing, laundry machines and making food and crockery; Gas - expenses with daily baths; Electricity - lighting, air conditioning, computer equipment, machinery – clothes, dishwasher, fridge, hob, oven, microwave, iron; Phone - related Expenses 4 mobile phones from Vodafone network, tariff-extreme; TV - based triple play Package (TV, phone and internet); Transports - 2 transport cars circulate daily; Extra curricular activities - swimming and football.

Conclusion We conclude that the values are higher on the coast: Extremadura, Douro Litoral and Beira Litoral and minors in Minho, Trás-os-Montes and Beira Alta. Extremadura is where the cost of living is higher, as well as the capital, Lisbon, and Minho is where is smaller. Note also that the cost of living is higher on the coast than inland, because that is where there are the largest cities.
