Outside of the stable, the animals are gathered and talking… They are two cows, a donkey, a sheep, and a dove.
Something to Do with a Star (Donkey) A man and a lady came travelling. I carried the lady this far. I don’t know why they stayed in a stable. We think it has something to do with a star!
(cow) While eating some hay at my manger, Acouple arrived from afar. I don’t know why they stayed in my stable. We think it has something to do with a star!
(sheep) I was out in the fields with my shepherd When an angel appeared and sent us this far. But why did we come to a stable? We think it has something to do with a star!
(Dove) I was flying so free in the forest, When three kings rode by from afar. I don’t know why they came to a stable. We think it has something to do with a star! We know it has something to do with a star! With a star!
Going in the stable, the animals try to find out what’s going on in there… They are surprised to find a baby in the manger!
Away in a Manger Away in a manger, no crib for a bed, The little Lord Jesus laid down his sweet head. The stars in the bright sky Looked down where he lay, The little Lord Jesus asleep on the hay.
The cattle are lowing the baby awakes, But little Lord Jesus, no crying he makes. I love Thee, Lord Jesus! Look down from the sky, And stay by my cradle-- till morning is nigh. And stay by my cradle-- till morning is nigh.
The animals are proud of giving the baby some gifts of their own. They are extremely happy about the baby!
