Tank Size Justification • Volume Calculation • Maximum Day Demand (MDD): 880,600 gallons • Fire Flow (FF): 3,000 gpm for 3 hours = 540,000 gallons • FF + MDD = 1,420,600 gallons • Tank Size: 1.5 MG • Why not two 750,000 gallon tanks? • Pump requirements would remain the same • Will require construction at two different sites • May need two separate pump stations • Additional piping • Higher maintenance and operation costs • The layout of the facilities above grade will not change much • More cost effective to build one larger tank Arizona Water Company

Excavation/Blasting Plan • Excavation • Approximately 135 feet diameter • 24 feet deep • Blasting completed in two lifts, 12 to 13 feet each • Each liftdivided into four areas • Each area will require two days of drilling (Approximately 85 holes) • 60-75dba • One day for setting the charges • Blast – Approximately 2 seconds • Sound Level – 100 to 120 dba (Less than and as quick as a thunderclap) Arizona Water Company
