THE FARADAY INSTITUTE RESEARCH SEMINARS Lent Term 2006 Speakers Schedule The Faraday Institute for Science and Religion (www.faraday-institute.org) Research Seminars are held at 1.0 p.m. on alternate Tuesdays in the Okinaga Room, St. Edmund’s College. A free light buffet lunch and drinks are served from 12.30 p.m. onwards. All are welcome. 31st January Revd. Dr. John Polkinghorne, KBE FRS (formerly President of Queen’s College) ‘How Does God Interact with the World?’ 14th February Prof. Philip Clayton (Professor of Religion and Philosophy, Claremont Graduate University, USA) 'Concepts of Emergence in Science and Religion'. 28th February Prof. Colin Russell FRSC (Emeritus Professor of the History of Science, Open University) ‘Science and Faith in the Life of Michael Faraday’. 14th March Prof. Sir Brian Heap FRS (formerly Master of St. Edmund’s College) ‘Consumption and Well-Being – Christian Values and Sustainability’. Further information about the Speakers may be obtained at www.faraday-institute.org The Okinaga Room is at the top of the St. Edmund’s College Tower: take the lift ahead of you as you enter the College; the Okinaga Room is on the 5th floor and the free buffet lunch is served there.
