The show centers on Ryan Atwood (Benjamin Mckenzie), an adopted teen suffering from his past. Ryan tries to make the most of his new life with the wealthy Sandy (Peter Gallagher) and Kirsten (Kelly Rowan) Cohen and their son Seth (Adam Brody). Ryan and his step brother both have a ‘thing’ for the neighbor Marissa Cooper (Mischa Barton).

“The OC” vs. “Vampire Diaries” • “The Vampire Diaries” has the maximum views of 4.9 million compared to “The OC” with 9.7. Right there it shows which series is a bigger hit and more or less attracts the teen viewers. “The Vampire Diaries” is all about vampires and has some teen related issues, but “The OC” focuses on teen issues as well as being more realistic. Teens can relate their lives to “The OC” more which is why I enjoyed it better and the ratings show that the world enjoyed it better.
