Task Force 34 Departure Ceremony (Units include: HHC 34th CAB, 834th ASB, C Co. 2-211th, and F Co. 1-189th) Saturday, May 31st, 2008 at 1100 HISTORY, 34th Combat Aviation Brigade, 34th ID The 34th Combat Aviation Brigade’s lineage and honors trace to 30 January 1919 when Co D, 6th Infantry was established and federally recognized. Reorganized and redesignated 1 December 1923 as Co D, 206th Infantry, an element of the 34th Division. Converted and redesignated 1 July 1940 as Battery D, 216th Coast Artillery. Reorganized and redesignated 10 September 1943 as Battery D, 774th Antiaircraft Artillery Gun Battalion. Reorganized 26 November 1947 a Battery D, 256th Antiaircraft Artillery Automatic Weapons Battalion, an element of the 47th Infantry Division. Converted and redesignated 22 February 1959 as the 47th Aviation Company, 47th Infantry Division. Reorganized and redesignated 1 April 1963 as Headquarters Company, 47th Aviation Battalion. Reorganized and redesignated 2 October 1986 as Headquarters and Headquarters Company, Aviation Brigade, 47th Infantry Division. Reorganized and redesignated 01 October 2005 as Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 34th Combat Aviation Brigade, 34th Infantry Division.
