  1. This tutorial will show you how to do a general search in the EBSCO databases.

  2. From the library homepage, select “Databases.”

  3. Select the first database title, “Academic Search Complete” from the list of databases. Academic Search Complete is one in the family of databases from the provider EBSCO and contains a wide variety of journals on many topics.

  4. On the search page, I’ve typed in the sample “body composition.” You can type in your topic and hit “Search.” Using quotation marks around your topic will tell the database to search the words as a phrase, not individually.

  5. On the results page, our sample search has over 9,000 articles. If you want to further refine your results, you can do so using the boxes on the left-hand side of the screen.
