Drug Classification • Xanax or Alprazolam belongs to a group of drugs called benzodiazepines but it is also a depressant. • It works by slowing down the movement of chemicals in the brain that may become unbalanced which would result in nervous tension or anxiety. • Xanax is used to treat anxiety disorders, panic disorders and anxiety caused by depression.

Methods of Administration • You take Xanax through the mouth i.e. swallowing a pill. Sometimes • people will dissolve it underneath their tongues. • It is not recommended that one takes it was alcohol or Ambien. • Do not crush or chew it either. • Some people will even snort Xanax because the is very fast acting • that way, but this is a very dangerous way to take it.
