  1. Week at a Glance Aug 19-23 Mr. Johnson 7th Grade Math

  2. Dear Parents, This week at a glance (WAG) is designed to give parents a brief idea of what their child is learning at school. It will have the subject standards (Georgia Standards of Excellence), the main topics covered, and some sample problems with links to videos and worksheets. We encourage parents and students to review this presentation together and to stay informed on the weekly learning objectives. *** students can earn extra credit if they copy or print the sample problems or worksheets and show the teacher. If the worksheet or PDF has several pages (5 or more), you don’t have to print every page. Print at your own discretion.

  3. Standard: Number System (NS 1,a,b,c) MGSE7.NS.2 Apply and extend previous understandings of multiplication and division and of fractions to multiply and divide rational numbers. I Can… add, subtract, multiply, and divide Integers (rational numbers). 5. MGSE7.NS.1c Understand subtraction of rational numbers as adding the additive inverse, p – q = p + (– q). Show that the distance between two rational numbers on the number line is the absolute value of their difference, and apply this principle in real‐world contexts. MGSE7.NS.2 Apply and extend previous understandings of multiplication and division and of fractions to multiply and divide rational numbers. 8. MGSE7.NS.1a Show that a number and its opposite have a sum of 0 (are additive inverses). Describe situations in which opposite quantities combine to make 0. For example, your bank account balance is -$25.00. You deposit $25.00 into your account. The net balance is $0.00. MGSE7.NS.1b Understand p + q as the number located a distance from p, in the positive or negative direction depending on whether q is positive or negative. Interpret sums of rational numbers by describing real world contexts. MGSE7.NS.1c Understand subtraction of rational numbers as adding the additive inverse, p – q = p + (– q). Show that the distance between two rational numbers on the number line is the absolute value of their difference, and apply this principle in real‐world contexts. MGSE7.NS.1d Apply properties of operations as strategies to add and subtract rational numbers.
