  2. GROWTH MINISTRIES OF A LEADER To support the growth of a leader he must have responsibility To have RESPONSIBILITY is equated = To have AUTHORITY Responsibility is my Response to God’s Ability

  3. GROWTH MINISTRIES OF A LEADER The Christian Leader is one of the believer’s most important resources in maintaining his personal relationship with God. The Leader as a Judge (Psalm 50:6, 1 Corinthians 6:3) • brings justice or punishment to the one who is accused of a crime

GROWTH MINISTRIES OF A LEADER Deuteronomy 16:18-19 18 Appoint judges and officials for each of your tribes in every town the LORD your God is giving you, and they shall judge the people fairly. 19 Do not pervert justice or show partiality. Do not accept a bribe, for a bribe blinds the eyes of the wise and twists the words of the righteous.

  5. GROWTH MINISTRIES OF A LEADER QUALITIES OF A TRUE JUDGE 1. Responsible - carry out proper actions on your own areas (Deuteronomy 16:18) 2.Righteous - slave of righteousness (Deuteronomy 16:18) 3.Impartial - will not be partial in their decisions (Deuteronomy 16:19)

  6. GROWTH MINISTRIES OF A LEADER QUALITIES OF A TRUE JUDGE 4.Honest - shall not fall for financial gifts (Deuteronomy 16:19) 5.Decisive - will bring spiritual decisions with discernment (Deuteronomy 25:1) 6.Loyal - standing up for what is right (Deuteronomy 25:1)

  7. GROWTH MINISTRIES OF A LEADER QUALITIES OF A TRUE JUDGE 7.Courageous - will not stand up for the wrong person, lose friends in the process (Deuteronomy 25:17) 8.Fair - will not overextend the sentence against the guilty party (Deuteronomy 25:3)

  8. GROWTH MINISTRIES OF A LEADER QUALITIES OF A TRUE JUDGE 9.Discerning - will know the difference between right and wrong (1 Kings 3:9) 10.Submissive - will submit to other men spiritually and politically (Romans 13:1)

  10. GROWTH MINISTRIES OF A LEADER THE LEADER AS A TEACHER (Psalm 32:8) • Teach them by example, always • doing first what you want them to do • Teach the people only as much as they • understand, receive and put into • action • Teach them how to teach others • -God’s ways, truth, and statutes

GROWTH MINISTRIES OF A LEADER THE LEADER AS A GUIDE • True spiritual guide, (Psalm 23) • False guide (Matthew 23: 16, 23; • 1 Kings 16:2,19,26) The goal of leader’s guide is not to tell believers what they should do or where they should go, but to put them in the very center of God’s will with complete obedience to His Word.

  12. GROWTH MINISTRIES OF A LEADER How should the leader guide his people? 1. Closely observe the flocks for needs and problems(Psalm 32:8). 2.Look to the Holy Spirit as the ultimate counselor (Psalm 23:2). 3.Shares principles of Christian growth and spiritual strength. 4.Testimony-relate how God has helped in certain areas of his own life.

  13. GROWTH MINISTRIES OF A LEADER Philippians 4:9, “Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me--put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.” Hebrews 10:36, “You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised.”
