Reading Across the Curriculum • Orton-Gillingham Approach to Reading Instruction Training (OG) for all English, English Language Development (ELD) and Resource Teachers – January 8, 2017, 10 teachers • Planning sessions for including OG strategies in English instruction – spring 2018 • NewsELA Pro instructional content platform training for all content area teachers – spring 2018 • myON digital reading platform training for all content area teachers – spring 2018
Reading Across the Curriculum • Continue book study on Making Content Comprehensible for English Learners: The SIOP Model – bi-weekly PLCs all year • Conduct professional development on ways to coordinate OG strategies, SIOP features, NewsELA, myON in all content areas – summer 2018 • Planning sessions on specific ways to include reading strategies in all content areas – year 2, semester 1 • Implement reading strategies in all content areas – year 2, semester 2
