  3. Where are we located? • Main entrance“Teorifagbygget” house 2 • Next to the MIX kiosk • Second floor (below Studentsamskipnaden) 3 - 05.08.2008

  4. What do we do? • Help students connect to the University’s network, either on campus (wireless) or through the access at the student hostel • Provide software and limited support (see booklet) • Use of provided software is at own risk. 4 - 05.08.2008

  5. User accounts (to get access) • Your user account gives you access to: Computers at campus, an e-mail account, file storage area, the wireless network on campus (Eduroam) and internet from your student hostel apartment • Get user name • Get your password (both are issued at the International Office) • Logg on to your account Remember to accept the conditions for the account! 5 - 05.08.2008

  6. What do we help with? • Microsoft Windows XP and Vista • We still might have a solution for you even if you don’t use Windows • Software and IT-services provided by the University of Tromsø • If we can’t help you with your question we will try to find out who can 6 - 05.08.2008

  7. We will not… • Make changes to your computer, install software, install drivers, install extra peripherals etc. • If you bring your laptop to the office we might take a look at it to identify your problem and give you advice on how to solve it. • Leave the office to solve a local problem • If the problem has to be solved locally we will contact the local computer department (usually the faculty that owns the failed resource, or UNIT) 7 - 05.08.2008
