API 5L X42 pipe

API 5L X42 pipe is an ultra-low or low carbon steel micro alloy pipe. Common alloyants used in the API 5L X42 dsaw pipes are manganese, phosphorus and sulphur. Addition of these alloying elements enhances the pipes mechanical properties. The API 5L X42 Erw are high pressure gas pipelines. These pipes have high resistance to cold, acid and industrial waste, like hydrogen sulphide and other highly corrosive environments.

  3. What is X42 Pipe? • Acero API 5L X42 steel pipe & API 5L X42 PSL2 Pipe have a high tensile strength, hardness and toughness to withstand fractures and cracks. • The addition good weldability. Forming operations like flanging, welding or bending are well suited forAPI 5L X42 PipeMaterial & API 5L X42 ERW Pipe. • The type of L290/ X42 pipes manufactured based on requirements could be either seamless or welded, EW, HFW and SAW.

  4. There are two product specification levels of API 5L grade x42 pipe i.e. - the PSL1 and the PSL2. • While the PSL 1 is the quality standard for line pipes, the PSL 2 has additional chemical and mechanical properties, along with stringent testing parameters.
