I am very glad that I chose to do my internship with A&M Concessions. I learned a lot about sales, purchasing, stocking, and supervising. Although some of the work was tedious, the staff was amazing to work with and I didn’t have to spend all day inside an office. I was also given ample opportunities to earn responsibility and gain valuable experience.
Words of Wisdom Always be prepared to think on your feet. It is a lot easier to make decisions when you have solid knowledge of how something works. Also, don’t be afraid to get dirty.
Internship Objectives • Put together the menuboards for the opening of Olsen Field at Blue Bell Park • Conduct all vendor relations for Blue Bell Park, including being the contact point, ensuring proper training, distributing needed parking passes and other credentials/paperwork, setting up an accounts receivable structure, and keeping vendors updated on all schedule and policy changes • Create a perpetual and weekly inventory for the main warehouse at Kyle Field • Complete a list of all equipment, smallwares, and maintenance issues in concessions stands in Kyle Field
Daily Activitiesat A&M Concessions • Stocking concessions stands for upcoming events with both inventory and nonchargeable items • Cleaning and reorganizing stands post-event • Performing various facility tasks (minor maintenance, equipment checks and transfer, etc)
Project Description • Create core menuboards for Blue Bell Park • Design layout and place menu items appropriately • Design signage for Olsen Magic Flavor of the Week • Create signage to advertise and push temporary specialty flavors (see next slide)
