  2. Product Phase-Out Application Modules:Background + Advantages of Successor Products • The range of application modules represents the first generation of AS-i modules. The devices have been on the market since 1995 and no longer correspond to state-of-the-art technology. The application modules will be replaced by the K45 modules. • Advantages of K45 modules: • Lower price • Time savings in terms of module mounting: Mounting with only one instead of four screws • The integrated addressing socket facilitates the module‘s addressing in installed state • Comprehensive diagnostics via LED on the module (e.g. display of zero address, missing communication with the master, overload) • Any insertion position of the AS-Interface flat cable, irrespective of the profile lug position • K45 modules in A/B technology facilitate the connection of up to 62 slaves in one AS-Interface network

Schedule for the Application Module‘s Phase-Out • Schedule for the application modules‘ phase-out: 10/01/2010: • Phase-out announcement • Products remain available for ordering • Placement of last-time orders approx. 10/01/2011: • Product discontinuation • Start of subsequent delivery service • Products are only available as spare parts in small quantities
