Research and Evaluate: MyMedia • MyMedia: Developing an Open Source Recommender System for Broadcast Media: • A conglomeration of the European Microsoft Innovation Centre, BBC Research, BT Research, Microgénesis, Telematica Instituut and the Universities of Hildesheim and Eindhoven
Information Overload OR The Crisis of Choice • With approximately 281,000,000 Terabytes of new information being created in 2007. There has to be a way of sorting out the “noise” from the relevant and required information that end users require. • Hence the MyMedia project!
Example of one of MyMedia Field Trials (MSN ClipClub Germany) • MyMedia Engine is currently being used in a social media networking trail in German only
MSN Clip Club using MyMedia Recommender Allows to rate media and recommend media to others on the network to name just a couple of feedback options.
