  2. The main story Mrs. Chen had a bad day at work and she gets on the subway like she always does but she was super excited that day to go home. She was counting the number of stops and started to have a day dream. It was night and Mrs.Chen was on the buss and she was sitting on the hard chairs in the subway, the sound of the conductors voice was putting her to sleep. ~A flashback is like when you remember something, when the author stops the main story and tells us something from the past. On page 43 “ Mrs. Chen was counting the stops on the buss.”

  3. The main story part 2 “Mrs.Chen could feel the supervisor’s presence passing through the rows of silent women bent over their singer sewing machines; no one bared to look up, their needles. Page 43 The importance of the story is that the author wants to show why she is having a bad day and why she is tired. Mrs.Chen was very lonely and could not talk to anyone because non of them could speak he languange.
