Hypnosis Allan Jayden
What is Hypnosis • Hypnosis is an artificially induced altered state of consciousness where the subject is susceptible to suggestive phrases.
Powers of the Hypnotist • Hypnotists are able to put subjects into a “coma-like” state where the subject can be easily prompted to do most of the simple actions that the Hypnotist desires. The key, however, is that the subject needs to want to be hypnotized.
Hypnosis and the Subject • In order for the subject to be hypnotized, they have to really want to be “put under.” Even then, the subject will NOT do anything that they don’t want to do subconsciously, something that conflicts with ones morals for example. If they don’t want to do it, they’ll snap out of the trance.
Stages of Hypnosis • Induction- puts the body and mind in a relaxed state • Suggestions- the Hypnotist says phrases that the subject takes in • Awakening- the stage when the subject comes out of the hypnotic state
