To Solve Indirect Proofs • They use the same reasons and properties as regular proofs to be solved. • Their only difference is that you are proving a statement false • You first make the assumption that that the opposite of what you want to prove is true • Then search for a conclusion that proves your assumption false • Because your assumption leads to a false conclusion and it is the opposite of what you want to prove then you have proven the statement true
