Forced Perspective Photography “Trick” photographs NOT done in PhotoShop Use these as examples and then be creative and try your own
Things to Consider • Where you place your subject in relation to the background (Closer or further from you can make the subject look larger or smaller) • Keep the background simple when trying to force the perspective • Use selective focus and clever positioning to achieve your desired effect • Be prepared to shoot the picture MULTIPLE times to achieve the desired effect… You will have to experiment a bit to get it right
As you look… • As you examine the following pictures, talk about HOW you think the photographer achieved the image, and any difficulties you think that they might have had to overcome • Remember… these are almost always the result of multiple attempts. Once you have your vision you will need to continually adjust in order to achieve your vision
Now What? • You aren’t actually going to be shooting any pictures today. Instead, use the remaining time to plan out at least three different forced perspective photos you want to try tomorrow. • Be sure to make a list of any materials you will need to bring from home, as well as talk to any classmates you might need to assist you in your photo shoot • You will actually be shooting these pictures tomorrow, so be sure your camera is charged!
