NTPC Ltd New R&D Initiatives- Floating Solar(Kayamkulam) • Salient Details: • Floating platform developed indigenously in collaboration with (CIPET, Chennai) • 100 kW Floating PV installed at Kayamkulam in Mar-17 • Benefits • Water Conservation through reduced evaporation • Increased generation due to cooling effect on panels • Requires lesser installation time than land mounted solar. NTPC plans for MW scale floating solar
