WHAT HAVE YOU LEARNT ABOUT TECHNOLOGIES FROM THE PROCESS OF CONSTRUCTING THIS PRODUCT?
PHOTOSHOP When I first started using Photoshop, I was no overly confident with it as I did not have previous knowledge of it, nor I had used it in previous work. To help me get to grips with this, I used an Adobe manual to help me with the most basic features, and also watched a few YouTube tutorials, which also helped a great deal. As my production went on, I felt more confident about using this program, and now I would say I would feel confident using it in future production, as I know my way around most of the basic tools. However, next time, I would try to gain even more knowledge so as I could try and add in a few more editing techniques, as featured in existing magazines.
WORDPRESS Using Wordpress.com to publish my work has helped me a lot. As I used this for my AS coursework in 2012 I was confident in using it, and I really like the layout and how you can choose different themes to fit in with your blog. I feel using this website has helped me to lay my work out well, and has definitely helped in the timescale of my work, in a sense that I have been able to plan my time well with each post.
CAMERAS As previously mentioned in my evaluation, I used my Fujifilm Finepix camera, which is of a high quality. As I have used this before I was extremely comfortable with using it, as I have had the camera for a few years now, so I haven’t really learnt anything new regarding this piece of technology.
SOCIAL NETWORKING One main thing I have learnt throughout the process of this coursework is that social networking sites have a huge impact on not only the feedback of a magazine, but also the promotion/advertisement/distribution of magazines. I used Facebook, Twitter and Wordpress to gain feedback on each of my pieces, and I feel this has helped me a great deal in the process of my work and the best way to improve it, and also the importance of social networking from an advertising view.
