LONG TERM GOAL • Adopt 21st century teaching approaches in Islamiyat to promote students critical thinking and prepare them to meet the requirement for C.I.E paper pattern.
SHORT TERM GOALS • Explore the major themes of Quran through the new acquired questioning skills that appear in each passage and the way each passage presents its themes in a distinctive way. • Demonstrate understanding about the level descriptors for attempting a and b part answers. • Recall the teachings contained in each Quranic Passage about what Muslim Belief and how should they practice these in their everyday life.
REVISED BLOOM’S TAXONOMY FOLLOWED IN TEACHING QURANIC PASSAGES FOR THE MONTH OF AUGUST TOPIC: Quranicthemes Allah’s Messenger
BLOOM’S TAXONOMY IN ACTION TOPIC: Quranic Passages: Surah-Ad-Duha, Al-Maidah, Al-Baqarh, Al-Anaam& Al-Kausar 1.Remembering: Concept map format for solving 2058/1 compulsory question. 2.Understanding: C.I.Eformat criteria of commenting upon each Quranic passage particularly in Surah-Ad-Duha, Al-Maidah, Al-Baqarh, Al-Anaam & Al-Kausar 3.Applying: Comments in (a) and (b ) parts as Main Theme and Distinctiveness.
4.Analysing: Differentiating between Main Theme and Distinctiveness. 5.Evaluating: Teacher will judge the perspective of the students expressive comments according to the C.I.E requirement through questioning. 6.Creating: Students will incorporate the relevant references in (a) and (b) parts of each Quranic passage according to the required theme.
INSTRUCTIONS STRATEGIES & TASKS • In the introductory class teacher will conduct back to school activity as SWOT analysis and each student will share one strength, weakness, opportunity & threat to define each student’s personality. • Teacher will reinforce students previous knowledge through a given format of web which will classify the main theme dimensions according to C.I.E criteria of comments
Student will be able to construct phrasal sentences to fill up the given web of Quranic theme Allah’s Messenger. • With the guidance of the teacher students will be able to comment upon the main theme as well as compose distinctiveness of the main theme.

CONCLUSION The world is changing, society's expectations are changing, and our students are changing. It follows that the methods for teaching are changing as well. I look forward enthusiastically to the implementation of my newly acquired 21st Century teaching approaches in my curriculum/subject. This will create better teaching/learning environment in The City School.
