  5. GSoC 2011 Timeline February 28 – March 11: Google accepts applications from open source projects. March 14 – 17: Google program administrators review organization applications. March 18: List of accepted mentoring organizations published on http://www.google-melange.com March 28 - April 8: Student applications acceptance period. Interim Period: Would-be student participants discuss application ideas with mentoring organizations. 6

  6. GSoC 2011 Timeline March 28: Student application period opens. April 8: Student application deadline. April 25: Accepted student proposals announced at http://www.google-melange.com May 23: Students begin coding for their GSoC projects. July 15: Mid-term evaluations deadline. August 26: Final evaluation deadline. August 30: Students begin submitting required code samples to Google. 7
