Recommendations • Omnipresentdigitisation – identification is more importantthanever • Digitisedobjects must beidentified, at as manylevels as possible (facilitates future use andmanagementofdigitallibraries) • Thealreadyexisting, standardisedidentifiersshouldbeused – no need to invent own, proprietaryidentifiers (facilitatesexchangeofmetadataandlinking to objects)

  20. Conclusion • Traditional identifiers have worked well for the last 40-50 years and have also proved their viability for digitised objects.
