Why migrate from Office 2003 now? • Support for Microsoft Office 2003 at CERN – till 09.2011 • There are no fixes produced for Office 2003 since 06.2009 • Integration with infrastructure at CERN (SharePoint, Exchange, etc) • This summer: migration of remaining computers with Office 2003 to Office 2007 • Migration plan was accepted on IT Service Review Meeting (10.2010) with departmental’ and experiments’ representatives

  15. Installing Office 2007 • Right click on CMF icon and go to Add/Remove CMF packages • Uninstall Office 2003 • Install Office 2007 • Go for a lunch – it takes a while Presentation Title - 15

  16. Support • I WAS migrated from Office 2003 and I need a help • Ask service desk (http://cern.ch/service-desk) • Call 77777 • Send email: service-desk@cern.ch • Press F1 and use built-in HELP functionality • Decide on your own (choose a convenient time to install the new version) 16

  17. Summary • Remaining installations of Office 2003 will be migrated in summer 2011 • In Office 2007/2010 features are grouped on ribbons • Decide yourself – don’t wait to be migrated • Install new versions of Office - Use new features and profit from them 17
