  3. Why CSR? • Values - Not only wealth creation but also for the well-being of the communities. Strategy - Being more socially responsible is important for the strategic development of a company. • Social Pressure - from media, the state and other public bodies to become more socially responsible. • Paradigm shift - from philanthropy to partnerships.

  4. Examples: • Preventing Malnutrition and ill health in Women & Children. • Ensuring all children go to school. • Motivating family members to access health and education from service providers.

  5. The Life Cycle Approach

  6. Monitoring growth during pregnancy and first two years of life. Identifying pregnant women within 12 weeks. Changing behavior of care givers. Ensuring access to ante-natal care and safe delivery. Adopt a Mother and Save her child

  7. Motivating parents to keep them in school. Follow up in school and at home to ensure progress in school. Provide “bridge courses” to mainstream children to school. Identify school drop-outs and those children who have never been to school. Educate a Child
