  3. Scan one receptacle ID per container (4 carts in this example) 4 1 2 4 3 2 3 1 Next step… Respect the order:FROM TRACTOR BACKWARDS !

  4. Cradle the scanner back and check for fixed red light Pick handler name on the touch screen Confirm by pressing YES (click “No” to go back to previous screen) The system will move on to the FLIGHT SELECTION SCREEN (see next slide…)

  5. Flight Registration screen - Access To register the flight reference or carrier code please click on this button. The flight registration screen will then open (see next slide) Here are displayed the units that were delivered, TWO in this example Print button to be used ONLY if the proper association of units to flights has been made. If no association has been made, the button will remain disabled. In case of a delivery of containers with mail from a mix of carriers or of an unknown carrier, and only in that case this screen can be directly used as Association screen. The “Print” button is disabled (no printing possible) until a proper association has taken place (see slide 11)

  6. Flight Registration screen - Description Field where willl be displayed the flight reference as it is typed Dynamic flight list. By default shows the 4 most recent flights. As the flight reference is keyed-in the list will be updated (see following slides) Shortcut buttons with most frequently used Carrier references “Unknown” and “Mixed carrier” buttons. Disabled by default. Alphanumeric keypad to be used for the introduction of flight reference

  7. Flight Registration screen – Use (1) (3) (1) (2) The Handler starts by typing the first letter/number of the carrier code (1) or alternatively one of the shortcut buttons (2). In this example he types on the “S” and the list is automatically updated to display only the flight references starting with an “S” (the shortcut option is therefore disabled) If the flight he is looking for already appears on the list he can directly touch on it to select it (3) and then “OK”

  8. Flight Registration screen – Use (2) (2) (3) (4) (1) The Handler types the second letter/number of the carrier code (1). In this example he types on the “K” and the list is automatically updated to display only the flight references starting with an “SK”. If the flight he is looking for already appears on the list the can directly touch on it to select it (2) and then “OK”. Also, if the delivery is of a mix of flights from SK he should click on “Mixed” (3) and click on “OK”. If he knows the carrier but not the flight he should now click on “Unknown” (4) and then “OK”

  9. Flight Registration screen – Use (3) (2) (1) The Handler types the first number of conveyance reference of the flight (1). In this example he types on the “8” and the list is automatically updated to display only the flight references starting with “SK 8”. Also the letter keypad is disabled, as no letter can follow a 2 letter carrier code. The options “Unknown” and “Mixed” are also disabled at this stage. If the flight he is looking for already appears on the list the can directly touch on it to select it (2) and then “OK”

  10. Flight Registration screen – Use (4) (1) If the Handler did not find the flight reference to be registered on the flight list he might need to fully type in the complete reference. In the example he typed “SK8496” which is therefore displayed on the text field above. Now the flight reference registration and he can click on “OK” (1) which will take him to the Container to flight association screen (see next slide)

Container to flight association screen – Description Flights already selected by using the flight registration screen (see slides 6-10) To add more flight references to the list please click on this button. The flight registration screen will then open (see slides 5 to 10 ) If the unit contains a mix of flights from different carriers please use this button If the handler does not know the Carrier that transported the mail contained in the unit please use this button Number of units handed over by the handler (2 in this example) Label printing button

Container to flight association screen – Use (1) (1) (2) The handler assigns the flight by first clicking on the flight reference button (1) and then on the corresponding unit button (2) (in this case the AF1746 is assigned to Unit 1) Note: At this stage the “Print” button is still disabled as the process is not yet complete

Container to flight association screen – Use (2) (1) (2) The handler assigns the flight by first clicking on the flight reference button (1) and then on the corresponding unit button (2)(in this case the AY9141 is assigned to Unit 2). Once assignment finished the Print Button will be enabled. He clicks on it to launch printing (3) (3)

  14. Please don’t pull the labels while they’re coming out of the printer! Label 1 of n Label 3 of n Label 2 of n There will be one label printed per previously scanned container id Label 4 of n (…) Label n of n The Proof of Delivery label (P.O.D.) will display the ID of all the scanned container id’s, and the corresponding flights/carriers. Note: The printing of the P.O.D can be disabled upon request of a handler P.O.D.

  16. APPENDIX 0 – REPRINTING DAMAGED OR LOST LABELS

If the labels are lost or damaged when slipping them into pouches or sticking them on the containers : 1 - Choose your Handler’s name from the list 2 - Touch the “Reprint Labels” Button on the screen 3 – Select the button corresponding to the delivery you want to reprint the labels from (all the deliveries from the previous hour will be displayed for every handler) 4 – Printing will then start immediately…

Warning message: Possible data communication issue If the handler, when he’s about to make the registration, sees this message, he should notify it to the local Point of Contact (or to IPC) as there might be data communication issues. However he can continue with the registration as the data will be sent out once the communication is recovered

  21. To restart the system : 1. Press on the IPC logo on the top right part of the screen 1 3. Press “Yes” to confirm or “No” to cancel (The same procedure applies to Shut the System down) Don’t use the “Shutdown” button unless specifically requested by IPC. 2. Press “Restart” 3

  24. Power-saving mode If not used for a few seconds, the visualisation screen will turn into power-saving mode (empty screen) A simple clik on the trigger will turn the scanner on immediately

ULD with no barcode ID Use the “MODE” button to switch from letter-typing mode to number-typing mode and vice versa Letter-typing mode works exactly as for mobile phones If a mistake is made use the “BK” button Once the ID typed, press “ENTER” After cradling the scanner back the printing of the label will go on normally…

  32. How to restart the scanner (*) 1-Press and hold the scanner trigger WHILE SIMULTANEOUSLY pressing and holding the “2” key for 3-5 seconds. The screen will turn black, the scanner will be restarted 2 – When the “Home” screen is displayed, press the ENTER (*) button. You can now resume the scanning.

  34. When going to the staging area, the container (ULD, cart, …) is sealed and the receptacles (thus Receptacle ID’s) are not accessible to the driver Pick the barcode that corresponds to the ULD ID! (“DPN 39701 DL” in this example) 1 - If ULD with Barcode ID Scan the ULD Barcode
