OMB Assessment Activities • Purpose • OMB has issued the final version of its EA Assessment Framework v2.0 to serve as the criteria by which DOI will be graded on its enterprise architecture completeness, use, and results • The DOI Enterprise Transition Plan (ETP) deliverable is intended to demonstrate progress and associated results (e.g., improved mission performance, reduction in redundant systems) in migrating from our As-Is to the Target architecture • Status: BLM EA team will be participating with the DOI EA through review of draft ETP and delivery of relevant EA documents starting the end of January with a final delivery of February 28, 2006 • Future Work: BEA team expects to participate with the DOI EA team on a yearly basis to update the ETP deliverable to the OMB • Contact: Melanie Rhinehart, WO-500 BLM Enterprise Architecture | Edit Date: 1/19/06 FC&SC:

RecordsActivity Status • Purpose • Manage paper and electronic records through disposition according to NARA, DOI and BLM requirements • Status • Manage records for Bureau Enterprise Architecture (BEA), Project Management Office (PMO) and Indian Trust Program Manager • Manage Records Room with more than 1,264 folders or binders and more than an estimated 32,500 documents • Future work • Break 5,374 BEA records into appropriate versions for disposition • Develop and implement processes for Corporate Metadata Repository (CMR) and Plan of Actions and Milestones (POAM) records • Implement and maintain PMO electronic records management process BLM Enterprise Architecture | Edit Date: 1/19/06 FC&SC:

Business ArchitectureProject Status • Planning Protest Response • Purpose: Reduce planning protest response time • Status: Presented 10 high-level recommendations to WO-210 and State Planners (Fall Resource Management Planning meeting); WO-210 implementing highest priority recommendations • Contact: Deb Rawhouser, WO-210 • National Monitoring Strategy • Purpose: Enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of BLM’s assessment, inventory and monitoring efforts; establish and use limited number of indicators; standardize data collection and reporting • Status and Future Work: Presented BPR briefing to Steve Tryon, the National Monitoring strategy Program Manager, on 10 Jan 06. Made tentative plans to do a SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats) analysis and follow-up BPR briefing to his work group in Washington DC in February.
