Meet Miriam Schapiro: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IPCq8r52B4Y • Born in 1923 • Lived and worked in the 1970s in Southern California during the women’s feminist art movement. She also taught at the Chicago Art Institute. • Her art and teaching combined women’s art , traditions and perspectives and she pressed for these to be valued, exhibited, and preserved. • She helped bring women’s art to the forefront.
