  1. Required writing assignment: Read the section about The Truman-MacArthur Controversy” on the handout about the Korean war. (This is very much like the information you have in your notes and that we have already discussed in class) On your notebook paper that you prepared as your warm-up with your name, date, class, and title, write a short paper in which you explain the controversy (in your own words) and defend either Truman or MacArthur Your paper should be AT LEAST two complete paragraphs. Make sure you explain the situation first, then choose the side with whom you most agree and explain why.
