Choose one of the following writing promptsWriting must be at least a page!Preferably longer! • EXPLORING AUTOBIOGRAPHY: MEMOIR • Ruth Becker and her family were lucky to be among the 705 passengers who survived the wreck of the Titanic. Imagine that Mrs. Becker wrote a memoir in her old age that described the actions she took to save her family that fateful night. Write a page from that memoir. Re-read the events of the story where Mrs. Becker is trying to help her family. Explain what Mrs. Becker was thinking as she attempted to deal with the disaster and how she felt while she did so. • WRITING A DESCRIPTION: CAPTAIN’S LOG • Imagine what the captain of the Carpathia found when his ship arrived at the wreck of the Titanic. Write a captain’s log he could have written. The log should include the date, time, and approximate location, followed by a description of the scene the captain encounter and the rescue of survivors. Use details that help the reader see, hear, and feel what the captain experienced. SHOW NOT TELL!!
