Why • Enhance and develop the culture of the University • Grow the University’s reputation for excellence • Build capacity and capabilities and improve attractiveness to international students and staff • Improve attractiveness to UK students as a consequence of developing a more international and multi-cultural organisation
What Internationalise existing learner activity to create greater opportunities for all our students Concentrate on key geographic areas Develop sustainable international education and research partnerships Significantly enhance the attractiveness and relevance of our academic portfolio for international markets Improve the cultural and physical environment to ensure that students and staff are supported in this area of activity. Identify opportunities for UWS to lead and inform knowledge exchange activities including international debate and evidence building
Work in partnership wherever possible to • underpin the strategy e.g. with Scottish • Government, Scottish Enterprise, SQA, • colleges, other universities etc • • Ensure that international strategy is built • into all other UWS activities e.g. estates • development, marketing, HR development • etc • Offer a Rolls Royce quality of international student experience • • Have a sustained approach to exchange • and outward mobility for students and • staff • Ensure this activity is incentivised and supported through the resource allocation model • Develop metrics to ensure spread of activity is monitored
