Conferences • SIGMOD and PODS conferences • Submissions up, attendance strong, in the black for all 8 years of the current officers’ terms • Six co-located workshops and conferences last year, all did well • Working to internationalize • In Europe in 2004 for the first time ever • In Asia in 2007 • Radical changes to handle increasing SIGMOD submission rate, for 2005 and after (rebuttals, smaller PC, short/long presentations, carryover program with VLDB) • In-cooperation for 5-10 other conferences every year

Member Benefits & Initiatives • Very successful quarterly newsletter (SIGMOD Record, ~140 pp./issue) • Digital Library: Compilations of all database research literature, and more • 30-year collections: Anthology, Silver Edition • Annual DiSCs • DiSC 2004 coming with June issue of SIGMOD Record; DiSC 2005 will be sent by March 2005 issue • Electronic SIGMOD conference proceedings • Shipped with June issues of SIGMOD Record • Highly regarded conferences (SIGMOD and PODS) • New (and continuing) initiatives • Digital Library Donation Program (joint with VLDB) • History project • Interviews and video taping • Anthology Vol. 6 • Traveling Lecturer • SIGMOD Policy Board • Awards: SIGMOD Edgar F. Codd Innovations Award, SIGMOD Contributions Award, Test of Time Award, Undergrad Awards
