Why Study the Cross of Christ • Reason # 3 – The cross of Christ presents atonement Christ’s death was not a death to end His life, but a death to begin ours. • It was a death of atonement. •Atonement means somebody pays the price for somebody else. • Through the death of Christ, we can now have atonement with God.
