Victimisation Surveys • Module included in QNHS (large-scale household surveys, essentially LFS • Due to be repeated in 2006 • Plan is for large-scale dedicated crime and victimisation surveys every 2 years from 2008
Courts and Prisons Services • Crimes detected and prosecuted included in Police Annual Report • Very basic summary information provided publicly by Courts Service • Basic stocks and flows information provided by prisons service
Future Plans • Expert Group on Crime Statistics reported in 2004 • Following report, decision taken to centralise crime and criminal justice statistics by setting up unit in CSO • Discussions with police at an advanced stage regarding access to micro-data • CSO to take full responsibility from 2006
