Lifestyle of a Worshiper • Make yourself increasingly present to God • Proskuneo - to kiss my master’s hand • Set aside time regularly to worship God privately • Will only enhance your public experience (Church) • Offer yourself completely to God.
True Worship • John 4: 21-24 – Jesus & the Samaritan woman • Revelation 5: 11-13 FALSE WORSHIP • Out of obligation and not true love • God HATES false worship – Amos 5:21-24 • You must say NO to sin! • Going through the motions (church, work, family, even giving)
Mind • It’s not What you do but Who you do it for – Mark 12:30 (Love) • You can’t feed your mind the things of the world and comprehend the things of God. (Rom. 12:2) • Know His perfect will. Perfect doesn’t mean without blemish or problem. Perfect = COMPLETE • “Church-minded” is not “Kingdom-Minded” • 1 Corinthians 2: 13-16 – Have the mind of Christ
Body • Worship(Honor) God with your bodies – • 1 Corinthians 6:15-20 – Bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit • Good health is a gift from God – It’s up to us to receive it. Through rest, proper diet, exercise (Gym rat doesn’t mean you are holy!) • Surrender world’s standards to know Christ – Philippian 3:3 (No confidence in the flesh) • Psalm 139:13-14
Soul • The “Life Center” of every human being • We were created to worship Him – Psalm 145 • Heart issues will reveal where our level of worship is – Proverbs 4:23 • His character to us matches where we are (Provider, Healer, Protector, Redeemer,…etc) • Worship is a COMPLETE surrender to God’s good, pleasing, and perfect will – Rom. 12:2
