Indians observe the first death anniversary of Kalam on Wednesday.
To commemorate the day, Ministers Venkaiah Naidu and ManoharParrikar unveiled the six-feet statue of the ‘Missile Man’near his burial place at Pei Karumb and also laid a foundation stone for his memorial house.
It was Kalam who made India’s missile and space programmes and Pokhran-2 nuclear test possible.
His death left the entire country emotional and even after a year of his demise, the former Indian President is being remembered by people for his teachings and contributions to the society.
