  2. After Harry Potter mania and Game of Thrones hysteria, its time for Pokemon GO, an augmented reality game that has taken the world by a storm that has defied all logic and age-barriers.

  3. The game is Nintendo’s first foray into reality app and is based on its popular cartoon series Pokemon.But if you can’t differentiate Blastoise from Balbasaur, don’t worry, as here is how to get started:

  4. What is Pokemon GO?Pokemon GO is an augmented reality game, wherein the players are Pokemon trainers who have to walk around the physical world to capture Pokemons by throwing a Poke ball.

  5. How to catch your first Pokemon?Like most Pokemon games, the trainers get to select their first Pokemon, options of which are limited to three.

  6. You can either select a water-type Pokemon- Squirtle; a fire-type Pokemon- Charmander; or a plant-type Pokemon- Balbasaur.

  7. What are the types of Pokemon?All Pokemon’s are different and their strengths and weaknesses depend on their ‘type’.

  8. Pokemonscan be categorised into various ‘types’ including-

  9. Each of these are particularly strong or weak against specific types of Pokemons.For example, an electric-type Pokemon can easily defeat a water-type Pokemon.

  10. How do the Pokemon evolve?In Pokemon GO does not have levels. However, your Pokemons can evolve with a combination of ‘Stardust’ and ‘Candy’.

  11. How do the Pokemon evolve?While stardust is collected by capturing any Pokemon, candy is collected by capturing Pokemons of a specific type.

  12. What are battles and gyms?Tough Pokemons can easily be captured by throwing a Poke ball, there are gym battles in which players fight against each other’s creatures.

  13. What are battles and gyms? Type on an enemy to use basic attacks or tap and hold to use a more powerful attack, and swipe right or left to dodge an attack.

  14. Gyms are places that house tough trainers. They are controlled by three different teams- red, blue and yellow. A player can pick a team when he reaches level five.

  15. Winning fights at gyms will get the players Poke-coins and stardust.There is no end to the game, so play the for as long as you want or until your battery dies!
