  2. Goals • Increase ELI enrollment • Strengthen ELI finances • Secure additional temporary space • Complete CEA Self-Study • Complete scheduled promotions, peer reviews • Complete EAP V and VI R/W revision

  5. Strengthen Finances Goal • Tuition and Application Fees raised • Prudent management of expenditures • Enhancing outstanding Admissions practices • Refining marketing strategies

  6. Financial Goal Achieved • Projected 2005-06 revenue: $3.6 million • 2004-05 revenues: $2.65 million 36% increase • Projected 2005-6 expenditure: 2.9 million • 2004-05 expenditures: 2.5 million 16% increase

  7. Projected Surplus • Revenues: $3,600,000 • Expenditures:$2,911,000 Gross: 689,000 UD indirect: 119,000 Net Surplus: $570,000 (Projected)

  8. Securing Temporary Space • Leased four classrooms in Educational Annex of Newark Presbyterian Church—goal achieved • Long term need: new, additional ELI building with as much space as current main building • How to achieve long term goal? • Amass $1 million+ surplus

  11. Curriculum Goal Achieved • EAP VI RW and V RW now distinct courses • Students entering EAP VI ensured of having had prior experience with research • More integration of literature Thanks to Ken Cranker, Joe Matterer, Susan Coakley, and Walt Babich

  12. Other Achievements • Thorough assessment of student achievement: 1. Average 23%+ in Mich. Aural 2. On 1-6 scale, .88+ in oral 3. On 1-6 scale, .88+ in writing 4. 93% students promoted 5. 87% students graduated
