  8. How do I ask my counselor a question? • If you come to the Student Services Office during class please check in at the counter. You enter your student number and you will check out after your appointment.

Community Service • Not Required for graduation • Must obtain prior approval during lunch in the Student Services Office • Must turn in signed letter, on letterhead, stating dates of service, hours served, brief description of services provided • Pre-Approval Forms available on Guidance Website or in the Student Services Office

Full time Dual Enrollment “ACE” Program at Florida Gulf Coast University The Accelerated Collegiate Experience (ACE) is designed to provide a unique educational experience to qualified junior and senior high school students who are seeking an advance study option. Public Information Meetings: (http://www.fgcu.edu/ACE/) Please check their website for informational meetings at FGCU. 3.7 weighted academic GPA and 3.0 unweighted GPA. • Minimum Standardized Test Scores: SAT – 1140 combined Reading & Math Minimums: Math 500/24, Reading: 500/25 writing, 24 read ACT – 23 Composite Minimums: Math20, Reading 20, English 20

Florida Southwestern State College Dual Enrollment GPA Requirements-Unweighted Cumulative GPA • 3.5 for Sophomores • 3.0 for Juniors and Seniors Minimum standardized test scores: • SAT: Reading 24, Writing 25, Math 24 (MAT1033) or 28.5 (MAC1105). • ACT: English 17, Reading 19, Math 19 (MAT 1033) or 23 (MAC 1105). • PERT: Reading 106, Writing 103, Math 114 (MAT1033) or 123 (MAC1105).

  19. AICE DiplomaCandidates must pass seven AICE ExamsOne from category 1, 2 & 3, plus Global Perspectives

  20. Credit Denial • Can not miss more than 9 days / semester • Please communicate with Attendance Office to document absences

  21. Make Up Work Policy Students are to be provided one school day for everyday day missed to make up work. Long term assignments are due on the day the student returns to school.

  22. Midterm ExamsFinal Exams • Often we get calls about students missing midterm or final exams. Students are not allowed to take the exams early - they can only take them when they return and should always let the teacher know in advance.

  23. Upcoming PSAT PSAT testing for all freshman and sophomores: October 16th, 2019

  24. Check grades often • Communicate directly with your student’s teacher if you have a concern • Take all standardized testing seriously • This presentation will be on the GCHS Student Services Website under ‘Events’ Closing Thoughts
